Curriculum Intent

The PSHE curriculum intends to provide all students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to engage fully, happily and healthily in society, both at a local and at a global level.

The curriculum will promote and uphold the school vision and values and empower students to be respectful; self-aware; tolerant; inclusive; resilient and self-confident. Within the curriculum students will be explicitly and implicitly exposed to the British Values and their social, moral, spiritual and cultural development will be actively promoted.

The PSHE curriculum intends to be flexible to adapt to societal issues and concerns but ultimately will enable students to engage with issues that affect them; their peers and their wider communities.

The PSHE curriculum will be built around three key areas: Healthy & well-being; Relationships and Living in the Wider World enabling students to have a tailored provision that links directly to their world.

The PSHE curriculum is intended to raise aspirations for our students as we provide high-quality but impartial CEIAG aligned to the Gatsby Benchmarks.

The PSHE curriculum will be augmented through varied external speakers; assemblies and other whole school events.
