Vocab Express is an online vocab learning application that was designed and developed in conjunction with a number of secondary MFL departments during the first half of 2009.

 

Language Nut

A language learning website and app where you can study all aspects of French and German – revise vocabulary, practise verbs and all aspects of grammar and improve your reading, listening, writing and even speaking skills. Pupils have their own usernames and passwords.

 

Linguascope

An excellent website that uses games for learning all the basic vocabulary in each language at Beginner level and then moves onto more challenging vocabulary and texts at the Intermediate level. Your username and password are available from your language teachers.

 

YouTube

You can find everything to do with languages here! You can find videos practising vocab or explaining grammar or you can watch music, news and video clips in the foreign language. It’s great listening practice and you can increase your vocabulary and your cultural knowledge too.

A free vocab learning website/app where you can find vocab lists for any level of the language you are learning.

Learn German

Part of the Deutsche Welle news website, you can learn German here. If you look for ‘Langsam gesprochene Nachrichten’, they slow down the news to be it easier to understand – great for listening practice!
