  • GCSE, BTEC and A Level Summer Examinations and Covid

    This term is all about making sure our Year 11 and 13 students feel as well-prepared for their summer exams as possible with support for revision and wellbeing  during the final push.

    After months of prompting from schools the Department for Education has this week provided more clarity around what happens if students in Years 11 or 13 are unwell with Covid symptoms during the summer external examination period. Further information will be shared directly with parents of Year 11 and 13 students in the next week or so.

  • Growth Mindset

    Staff are invited to nominate students who have demonstrated a Growth Mindset in the past few weeks. This might have been in lessons, in clubs, in tutor time or simply around school. Please note we already award bi-annual subject badges and merits for good academic work, effort and improvement. These Growth Mindset nominations recognise those who show resilience (academic or otherwise); who aren’t afraid to get things wrong and learn from it; those who have a go, take themselves out of their comfort zone or show that even if a task is tough they will persevere.

  • New IT equipment for student use ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

    Over the Easter holidays the IT network team were busy in classrooms upgrading a raft of new PCs for student use.  As part of our asset replacement plan, new computers have been installed in the library; in V4, a multifunctional classroom with desks that convert to IT spaces when needed; in the Year 13 private study area, and in Geography classrooms.
