Black History Month

Know the Past - Shape the Future

The library collection is constantly being updated, and by scrutinising and sourcing the best resources we can provide an up to date and accessible collection for our students.

In collaboration with the History department, titles continue to be added that reflect the need for an increased awareness of Black History and throughout October the library has curated a display of books that are available to borrow or browse.  Some of the latest and best in fiction and non-fiction include Black and British by David Olusoga which has been adapted for younger readers. The 2019 Booker prize winner Girl Woman Other is a popular choice for our young adult readers and The SJSF Enrichment reading group are selecting from this collection in preparation for their next meeting. All our young and enquiring minds are encouraged to broaden their knowledge through reading and the library’s diverse range of books, ebooks and magazines is the ideal place to start.
