Science Poetry competition winner

Students at KSHS were given the challenge of creating a poem about ‘connectivity and the universe’, reflecting on the many ways in which life across the universe is interwoven.

The winning poem was submitted by Emily 9APO.

“The Stars”

A peaceful cloudless night

Untouched by wind or storm

A sky lit with dots of light

That shine down on us all

They’re constant beacons

Constant guides

A map to help those lost, find

Whether it’s Orion, Lynx and more constellations

Andromeda, Auriga and the big dipper too

They all look down on every nation

They’ll always be there, gazing down at you

So when you look and see the stars

When you dream a million dreams

When you see they are so very far

Realise the Universe is bigger than it seems
