We’re proud to announce that Kesteven & Sleaford High School has been recognised once again in the top 10% of all FFT schools nationally for attendance (2025-26).
It is with mixed emotions that I am letting you know that at the end of this academic year, after over 18 years as Headteacher at Carre’s Grammar School, and 11 as the Executive Headteacher of the Robert Carre Trust, I have accepted a new opportunity within the Community Inclusive Trust as Director of Secondaries, a position that will allow me to support and strengthen secondary education across the Trust.
On Wednesday 17 December, Kesteven and Sleaford High School hosted a visit for the senior citizens of Sleaford. The Interact Club, a group of students who dedicate every other Thursday breaktime to organising charity events, arranged a Senior Citizens’ Christmas party for a simple reason: to help different generations connect and feel part of the community.
On Friday 5th December, the Sunday Times revealed the top schools in the East Midlands for 2026. We are proud to report that once again, Kesteven & Sleaford High School features high up the rankings.
QuestionTimeNK is a two-hour-long event based on the BBC’s national programme, but with young people asking questions to the panel of experts.
The Raytheon Quadcopter Challenge is a national STEM competition that invites students to design, build, programme, and fly their own quadcopter. Each team must also deliver a technical presentation explaining their engineering process, and how their quadcopter was modified to provide support for a local hero. Our team designed their drone to support search and rescue teams, adding a thermal imaging camera, yellow and red theming, and white LEDs. They developed their use of CAD/CAM to design and manufacture additional parts, such as new arms and legs. The competition brings together the best young engineers in the country and encourages creativity, teamwork, and resilience.
Free Local Workshops for Parents & Families
The Mental Health Support Team (MHST) and Healthy Minds offer online workshops to support young people and families learn new strategies to manage a variety of emotional wellbeing concerns from managing anger to building resilience and staying emotionally healthy. You can access sessions here.
Supporting teens can be challenging, but small everyday actions make a big difference.
Whether your family is at home together or apart because of deployment, training, or distance, reading the same book, talking about it and sharing your thoughts, and making a scrapbook is fun for everyone and will be a shared experience you will always remember.
Last term, KSHS students had an amazing opportunity to bring their cultures to the World Fair. There were 24 stalls that showed off different students’ heritages: France, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Nigeria, Rwanda, Afghanistan, Turkey, Mauritius, Bangladesh, Tanzania, China, Japan, Malaysia, Malta, Scotland, Wales, Pakistan, India, Spain, Ireland, Canada, Latvia, and finally England.
On the evening of Thursday 20 November, six of our Year 11 Geography students had the opportunity to participate in the Geographical Association Worldwide Quiz which was held at KSHS.
The Sleaford Joint Sixth Form continues to set the standard for collaborative post-16 education, uniting the co-educational sixth forms of Kesteven & Sleaford High School, St George’s Academy, Carre’s Grammar School.
