Amie took part in the Kent International Judo Competition and came away with two bronze medals. She won them in the Espoir and Senior categories.
On Wednesday 8 June Sophie played in the England Golf Women’s Medal Midlands North qualifier (field of 75 ladies) and won the event playing 7 shots under her handicap.
Staff are invited to nominate students who have demonstrated a Growth Mindset in the past few weeks. This might have been in lessons, in clubs, in tutor time or simply around school. Please note we already award bi-annual subject badges and merits for good academic work, effort and improvement. These Growth Mindset nominations recognise those who show resilience (academic or otherwise); who aren’t afraid to get things wrong and learn from it; those who have a go, take themselves out of their comfort zone or show that even if a task is tough they will persevere.

Issy competed in the Schools Show Jumping competition at Epworth as part of the KSHS Equestrian Team.
Sleaford schools went head-to-head in an exhilarating technology tournament on Friday 17 June. A total of 27 teams of four students competed to be crowned champions. Teams of four students were challenged to design, develop, build and test a solution to an unknown technical challenge, using materials supplied, against the clock, in a one-day event.
Over 60 Graphics, Photography and Business students enjoyed a session with Simon Mannion, a Creative Art Director with an Advertising Agency, through the Speakers for Schools organisation.
Recently the Year 12 CTEC Business Studies students visited Grantham Tennis Club as part of their course. They were very fortunate to be shown around the facilities and gain valuable insights into how it is managed
The Senior Prefects of all 3 Sleaford schools, along with those from St George’s Ruskington, met with Dr Caroline Johnson MP to discuss topical political issues. Students had prepared an excellent list of questions and were also very good at asking follow-ups. Thank you to Dr Caroline Johnson for her time.
The Geography Department has been busy taking the Year 12 students on fieldtrips in recent weeks.
By visiting Boston, Skegness and Gibraltar Point, students have been introduced to a range of human and physical geographical fieldwork techniques and data collection methods. This is in preparation for the Non-Examined Assessment (NEA) which comprises 20% of their A-Level grade.
