Whether your family is at home together or apart because of deployment, training, or distance, reading the same book, talking about it and sharing your thoughts, and making a scrapbook is fun for everyone and will be a shared experience you will always remember.
Last term, KSHS students had an amazing opportunity to bring their cultures to the World Fair. There were 24 stalls that showed off different students’ heritages: France, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Nigeria, Rwanda, Afghanistan, Turkey, Mauritius, Bangladesh, Tanzania, China, Japan, Malaysia, Malta, Scotland, Wales, Pakistan, India, Spain, Ireland, Canada, Latvia, and finally England.
On the evening of Thursday 20 November, six of our Year 11 Geography students had the opportunity to participate in the Geographical Association Worldwide Quiz which was held at KSHS.
The Sleaford Joint Sixth Form continues to set the standard for collaborative post-16 education, uniting the co-educational sixth forms of Kesteven & Sleaford High School, St George’s Academy, Carre’s Grammar School.
We’re delighted to announce that Kesteven & Sleaford High School has been recognised in the top 10% of all FFT schools nationally for attendance during the 2024–25 academic year.
Four of our Year 9 students proudly represented KSHS recently at the North Kesteven Student Council. The event, held at the NKDC offices in Sleaford, brought together students from local secondary schools to discuss important topics including environmental issues and democracy.
Huge congratulations to Abigail who competed at a County Gymnastics competition in Lincoln, there were 57 other girls in her Zinc category.
She competed in 4 elements, Bars, Beam, Floor and Vault.
JCQ (Joint Council Qualifications) have updated their practice for schools on the application of access arrangements such as 25% extra time. Teacher evidence of certain access arrangements must now be evidenced as a normal way of working before applications can be processed and without this evidence pupils may potentially not have these granted' even if this has been a recommendation from the school's external assessor.
12 students competed against each other for a place in the district round of the Rotary Young Chef of the Year competition.
We’re pleased to share details of upcoming free online workshops delivered by the Dyslexia Outreach team. These sessions are open to all parents and carers—no diagnosis of dyslexia is required to attend and indeed could be beneficial to more parents and students.

Staff are invited to nominate students who have demonstrated a Growth Mindset in the past few weeks. This might have been in lessons, in clubs, tutor time or simply around school. Please note we already award bi-annual subject badges and merits for good academic work, effort and improvement. These Growth Mindset nominations recognise those who show resilience (academic or otherwise); who aren’t afraid to get things wrong and learn from it; those who have a go, take themselves out of their comfort zone or show that even if a task is tough, they will persevere.
