Last Sunday it was World Mental Health Day. This year’s theme was ‘mental health in an unequal world’, asking us to think about the issues that cause mental health inequality both locally and globally.

It was the first opportunity for our Year 7 and 8 Netball teams to experience fixtures against our local schools – St George’s Sleaford, St George’s Ruskington, Priory Ruskin, KGGS and Sir William Robertson. All teams took part in a tournament style ‘Netball night’!

Staff are invited to nominate students who have demonstrated a Growth Mindset in the past few weeks. This might have been in lessons, in clubs, in tutor time or simply around school.
To celebrate European Day of Languages on the 26 September the school enjoyed an entire week of European Languages activities.
We are looking for donations to help us get this year’s gardening club up and running, which is open to all year groups.
Tickets are still available to join our 100+ club for this academic year. Priced at £10 per number (with no cap on how many numbers an individual can purchase) each number is entered every month into a prize draw where the winner receives £25.
We have been thrilled with the response to our new Year 13 Wellbeing Ambassadors who have been working with students in the lower school supporting their mental health and wellbeing. The Wellbeing Ambassadors are available every Monday and Friday lunchtime in our wellbeing hub (K3).
Our PTA pre loved uniform shop remains open throughout the school year. We have lots of fantastic pre loved and new items in stock to help with those inevitable last minute uniform needs.
Well done to all the students who have attended a PE extra-curricular club this term. It is fantastic to see so many new year 7 students becoming involved and trying new activities. If you haven’t yet made it to a club, please just come along and have a go.
This week we learnt that eligible students would have access to covid vaccinations in our school.
All children aged 12 to 15 years are being offered a first dose of vaccine as part of the school-based Covid-19 vaccination programme. Children who are 12 years old and over on the day the School Age Immunisation Service (SAIS) team visits the school, will be offered a vaccination as part of the in-school vaccination programme.
Tilly in 7F has been recognised for an idea that she had as a Year 6 pupil during last year’s lockdown, by being formally invited by the Bishop of Lincoln to attend a special garden party, held to recognise people who “went the extra mile” during the pandemic.
