For our library book collection to remain well stocked we rely on all students to borrow and return their books responsibly. To help with this we are introducing a new automated email system to help students manage their library loans.
Year 7 students have used tie dye, block printing and the laser cutter to make stencils to print an organiser inspired by a different culture.
Students had the opportunity to discuss artworks at The National Gallery and visit the fantastic exhibition at The Tate Modern.
The French and German departments subscribe to various apps/platforms that your child can access from home anytime to help them improve their language skills.
Sleafordian one of our local school transport partners have contacted us to ask if we can work with parents/carers and students about the presentation of bus passes.
On Friday 19 November the Year 10 Geographers welcomed Mrs Rachel Enstone into their classrooms to listen to an informative presentation about living with earthquake hazards in Japan.
It has been wonderful to get the food clubs up and running again and food competitions started.
In recognition of the climate change summit in Glasgow, tutors have been discussing some of the causes and impacts of climate change with their forms.
Here at the KSHS library we are making moves towards using less plastic; Replacing plastic date stamp pockets with more sustainable paper versions produced on site, and by using fewer plastic covers where possible (this can however shorten the life of a popular book- think how many times a book gets unintentionally knocked around in a school rucksack each day!). Books that have become too tatty and reached the end of their shelf life are recycled, recrafted or sold in our charity book sales. We also have recycling bins in the library and encourage students to think carefully about what they need to print out.
