Term 1 - 30 September 2022

Dear Parent/Carer

With school holidays a distant memory I hope that your child has settled in well to the new academic year.

It was super to see so many students signing up to the extracurricular clubs and my thanks go to all our sixth form prefects who manned stalls and answered queries at the ‘Freshers' Fayre’. A copy of this term’s schedule can be found below.

Already this year, Year 9 students have taken part in an air drone Build & Fly STEM Day and Year 12 parents/carers have been invited into school for an information evening. Next week in school will feature the awarding of our first set on Growth Mindset awards – a way we recognise impressive effort and resilience in school every fortnight.

Apologies to any parents/carers who had difficulty contacting us by phone or email from Tuesday 20 to Friday 23 September. Schools and Businesses across the county experienced the loss of internet provision. As ever in a situation like this, messages to parents/carers were available on our website and mobile technology used to ensure you could keep in touch. If we have taken a little longer to get back to you, or we have missed a message and you need to get back in touch, please contact us. Thank you for your patience.

Music

I’m sure many of you have experienced the wide offer of Music at KSHS over the past few years and have been in awe of the performances you have seen and heard. Music is an integral part of the school curriculum and is highly beneficial to a student’s well-being and sense of achievement. Many of our students take part in music in the local community; some play in local bands, others are part of orchestras, choirs and other ensembles. In addition to working at KSHS, I’m involved in the music at St Denys Church in Sleaford and would like to invite students and parents/carers to join us in 2 events in October to continue their musical education. Please see the 2 posters below and get in touch if you would like more information.
