As a school, we are committed to listening carefully and responding where we can. Below are just two examples of how your feedback is already informing our work.
You said… We did…
You said: You would welcome more opportunities to meet teachers in person during parents' evenings.
We did: From next academic year, consultation evenings will return to a face-to-face format for Years 7-11, providing parents and carers with greater opportunity to discuss their child's progress directly with teachers.
You said: There is limited indoor space available for students at lunchtime.
We did: Whilst we recognise the importance of comfortable social spaces, we also wanted to clarify that there are several indoor areas available for students during lunchtime. Feedback suggested that some families were simply unaware of these spaces, so we will ensure they are communicated more clearly to both students and parents. Please be reassured that there is always a seat in our Dining Room for students to use at lunch time alongside access to our Learning Resource Centre. We also have covered areas outside with picnic benches and huts in our KS3 area where students can choose to eat their lunch. If students are directed inside during break and lunch times due to inclement weather, we always either open the Hall or classrooms where students can sit comfortably inside.
You said: Enrichment opportunities should be more plentiful.
We did: We are continuing to review our plentiful enrichment offer in line with the new DfE Enrichment benchmarks, ensuring that our students have multiple and varied opportunities to engage in enrichment activities that are purposeful, fun and can support a successful transition to adulthood.
You said: Consider the balance of workload for young people, particularly those preparing for examinations.
We did: We will continue to review our internal assessment calendar alongside a whole school review of the KSHS Homework policy over the next academic year. Student feedback from this academic year suggests that our students value homework, particularly when it supports retrieval practice.
