Our Carnegie book club has been meeting once a week now since March, reviewing and discussing the nominated books from this year’s shortlist.  The diverse range of books have taken our readers away from their usual reading comfort zones as they have discovered stories including Tsunamis, Zoo life in World War 2, modern day incarceration for a young American black teenager, living off grid, friendship in the aftermath of the Northern Ireland troubles and the struggles of a slave community in Jamaica. 

Voting will take place towards the end of May with the results announced in June.
